Current Lessons From Threats Faced by the Church in History

The Lord is leading His people and building His church in every age. But God has an enemy who has devised plans, simple and learned, coarse and refined, lewd and malicious, profane and religious, to destroy the flock of God. He has destroyed some of God's sheep by using all of his methods. Yet none of them had to be lost.

We are now engaged in this battle. God can save us and gives us no less grace and assurance than He gave to the faithful before us. They serve among the cloud of witnesses who are the redeemed of the ages. We have the record of their testimony of faith against apostasy, their courage in persecution, and their love unto the end. They trusted in the Scriptures and rejected vain philosophies; they saw eternity though living in time; they saw the promises and embraced them afar off. Now we must do the same.

This book identifies some of the battles fought by the saints before us and applies lessons learned to the battles of our time.
