Cheryl and Susan learn the meaning of "Many hands make light work."
Cheryl laid down her crayons and listened carefully. She heard gravel crunching on the driveway.
"Is Father home?" she asked.
Mother glanced out the window.
"Yes. Good! He's home early. We can have our lunch together today."
Father looked at Mother with a smile as he slipped out of his work shoes.
"We had lots of help to put the new shingles on the church roof this morning," he explained. "That's why I'm back so early. 'Many hands make light work.' "
