One night it happens. Minara is jerked from her sleep by terrifying noises. She doesn't know what time it is or where the sounds are coming from. There is screaming. Chaos. Running feet. The horror they feared is upon them.

"Hasson!" Minara shakes his shoulder. He doesn't move. "Hasson!" She shakes him harder.

He stirs. "What?"

"They've come! What will we do?" Minara's voice trembles in the darkness.

Hasson shakes the sleep from his head. His eyes fill with terror. "We must get out of here—fast!"

Minara and her family are forced to flee Myanmar when the military attacks their village. They and the other Rohingya people are no longer welcome in their native country. Hordes of refugees converge in a camp across the border in Bangladesh. Crime is rampant, food is scarce, and filth abounds.
