The Book of Romans is a blessed letter of instruction for all believers. However, many seem to be afraid of this book because it is "so deep" or "so weighty" or "so doctrinal." But Paul did not write this epistle as a sophisticated theological treatise; he simply gave an orderly presentation of seven basic truths concerning the marvelous salvation plan of God. These seven truths form the outline of Salvation Themes in Romans.
Paul had a twofold burden in writing to the Roman believers. He wanted them to know that salvation comes through faith in Christ alone--apart from the works of the Law--and that faith in Christ is demonstrated by a transformed life. We need to hear and understand these same messages, for Paul's burden is as relevant today as it was then.
Salvation Themes in Romans is based on a series of messages preached from Romans. This book is not a verse-by-verse commentary, though many verses in Romans are discussed. Rather, this writing is intended to inspire a life of deep appreciation for and commitment to the King of kings and Lord of lords.
